Instructions on How to Use a Water Flosser

Posted .

Flossing can be a tough task, especially if you have a difficult time wrapping the tiny strand around your fingers and pushing it through the crevices of your teeth. This is why water flossers were made. Water flossers can help you clean your teeth and prevent dental issues without any stress or worry. Now, because they’re a little high tech, they can be confusing. So, Dr. Douglas Hauck and our dental team are happy to help you by giving you the instructions on how to use a water flosser in Newport Beach, California.

To begin, fill the tank with lukewarm water. When you’re done, put it back on the base and place the lid on top. Next, choose the tip you would like to use to clean your smile and secure it on the handle. Finally, select the amount of pressure you would like the tool to use.

When using the flosser, lean over the sink and place the tip in your mouth. Wrap your lips around the wand and then turn it on. Wrapping your lips around the flosser will keep the water from splashing and making a mess.

Then, floss the back teeth by aiming the tip just above the gumline and then rinse the entire crevice. Move from tooth to tooth with this same technique. When you have cleaned between each chomper, turn the flosser off and remove the tip by pressing the eject button.

Now that you know how to properly use a water flosser, you’ll be on your way toward a clean and pristine smile!
